Élan Moore-Jones

Intellectual Property, of Counsel

Élan is Of Counsel to Gibson Hamilton PLLC, where she focuses on protecting the intellectual property of creatives, innovators, entrepreneurs, and businesses, while also advising on estate planning and business matters. As co-founding partner of her own firm, she has extensive experience guiding clients through trademarks, copyrights, contracts, and strategic business planning.

In addition to her private practice, Élan serves as an Associate Municipal Judge and is the current President of the Houston Lawyers Association, where she champions diversity, mentorship, and community engagement in the legal profession.

Élan earned her J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law, where she served as President of the Black Law Students Association and distinguished herself as an award-winning moot court competitor. She began her academic journey at Dillard University in New Orleans and graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a degree in English Studies and a minor in African American Studies.

Her commitment to service is rooted in her DNA. Her mother remains an active member of several service-based organizations, while her father, a Naval veteran, worked to help bridge the health disparity gap as Dallas’s first African American Urologist. Following their example, Élan has dedicated her legal career to bridging the access-to-justice gap for small businesses, creatives, and families of modest means. She continues to work zealously to protect intellectual property rights and to help working families secure generational wealth through estate planning.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Élan is most proud to be a devoted wife and mother.
